Spring Summer 2010 Runway Reviews
Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week 2010

Alexander Berardi S/S ’10 New York Fashion Week
By Nick Palacios, Fashion Stylist

Berardi outlined his inspiration and direction for Spring 2010 as a collection that is a, “…slight retro throwback to summer vacations in Martha’s Vineyard.”  The youthful designer showed 24 looks created with all-natural fabrics, resonating a light, airy, and delicate affect...Structured blazers adorned with contrasting piping and loose draping around the waist of trousers, showed Berardi’s true understanding of the dynamics between a strong silhouette and playful movement; a look he executed with ease.  Click here to read the full article.

Allude S/S ’10 New York Fashion Week
By Nick Palacios, Fashion Stylist

Cashmere in spring? Oxymoron?  Not for Germany’s Allude, run by Munich native Andrea Karg.  The stateside debut at New York Fashion Week launches an initiative to bring cashmere to the market in fresh shapes with sweet sorbet colors.

Models strutted in sexy sheaths, oversized outerwear, slinky sweaters, darling cardigans, and cheeky high waisted undies, all of which crafted from Karg’s luxe fabric of choice.  Click here to read the full article.

Christian Siriano RTW Spring 2010
By Sarah Richey

Christian Siriano’s RTW Spring 2010 show at NYC Fashion Week evoked old-world coastal glamour and luxury with champagne and khaki neutrals......Textures ran the gamut from full bodied organza to structured metallic linen.

Body conscious, metallic sheath dresses and draped satin ensembles in sandy hues made up many of the pieces, and four spectacular gowns stole the show, each in a super-luxe take of one of the main colors. Click here to read more!

Edition by Georges Chakra, Spring 2010
By Carey Faust

As a crayon box of colors, encompassing every single shade of the rainbow in its most vibrant and bold form, strutted fiercely down the runway, the energy that spread throughout the audience was tangible.  The models felt it too, and their walks, poses, and expressions perfectly personified the clothes they wore.  Equally as inspiring was the soundtrack to the show.......The garments came to life on the runway, dancing and twirling like confetti in the wind.  Their brilliant hues were reminiscent of everything wonderful. Pamella Roland Spring 2010 Collection

By Carey Faust

Pamella Roland’s Spring 2010 Collection, which she debuted to a welcoming and enthusiastic audience on September 15 of New York Fashion Week, was a Spring garden come to life!  It was therefore no surprise that the designer drew inspiration from the artwork of American artist Georgia O’Keefe, whose bright and colorful florals, airy, white landscapes, and New York City night scenes were evoked in texture, color, style, and presence.  Click here to read more!

Ports 1961 Spring 2010 Collection

By Carey Faust

The glorious irony was that the first palpable signs of Fall in New York City occurred in tandem with the first visible signs of Spring… Spring fashion, that is.  Fashionistas from far and wide flocked to crisp and breezy Bryant Park yesterday for the September 10th launch of Fashion Week, and with it, the unveiling of the Ports 1961 Spring 2010 collection.  Among those spotted were stylish fashion icons Ivanka Trump and Olivia Palermo, who occupied adjacent front row seats.  Click here for the full article.
